[He just stares at the words a moment, scowling where he sits on the edge of the crater where the church used to be. He's not even sure he wants to be alone, but he's starting to wonder if that's not better. It was easier when he didn't have to worry about losing people. Before Garden fell, losing Isa had never even crossed his mind. After that, he had kept everyone at arm's length for a long time, because it hurt less to be lonesome than to grieve.

[Even if he can't feel grief now, he remembers all too well how it used to feel, and in the long run, what does it matter if you can feel it or if you just remember how it feels? Memories hurt just as much as the real thing, it seems.

[He takes a minute to think, then responds in a thin, tense voice.]

I'm up by where the church used to be. It's really not a safe place to be, Xion--I'll be home by morning.
