There were a few things that just didn't happen to Bruce, and among them were phone messages like the one he had gotten the other night. He hadn't been a large enough presence in anyone's life to be the chosen recipient of 'I'm going off on an adventure' calls in a very, very long time, and he wasn't entirely sure he liked it

There was a series of knocks on the front door. These wasn't the normal kind of rap-tap-tapping you might normally get with a visitor. Instead, it was more of a repeated thumping as Batman slammed a shark face-first into a door until it stopped struggling already.

If anyone answered, he would certainly apologize for the disturbance. Probably by yelling at them after knocking the shark unconscious.
