Sims 3: Evans Family
Since I started playing Sims 3 again I have mostly been playing with one family at a time in different neighborhoods. I love that the town's time makes the NPC's do what they want, need and grow but I hate not being in control of my family in case big events happen.
Two of the families I've played with have been EAxis made. The first one was in Appaloosa Plains, the neighborhood that came with Pets. I started with Honey Darnell because she had a horse and for some reason reminded me of Dolly Parton. LOL. But more on that later.
The other family is the in Hidden Springs and I played with the Cinderella family, I like it mostly because I've used Ella Carlisle to be a bit like my explorer sim. She's the one going on these great adventures trying to get all the recipes from all the vacation lands.
But I digress. Each of the families that I have been fiddling with have been used to "catch up on my game". I got all the EP's up to Pets but never played them until I got Pets so I wanted to use one person in each family for different things. The one family that I feel a bit more of an attachment too is the one that I created, the Evans family. (fun fact.. or lame fact; Evans was the first, FIRST surname of my very first family ever on Sims 2. I never posted about them because by the time I knew about LJ and all that there wasn't any real sims community yet and I had reinstalled my game without back up). I created Xenia Evans to play around with the new Showtime professions, specifically the acrobat profession.
Why yes, she does resemble a lot to Katrina Bellagio... I didn't notice until I posted this.
Her traits are Athletic, Charismatic, Ambitious, Natural Born Performer and Dramatic.
She was actually really easy to get to the top of that career, I think that the Natural Born Performer and the Athletic traits helped out a LOT.
At her first scheduled gig. You start out just performing at parks before you can get a venue to have you there full time.

Finally she got high enough to get to the big time... which I can't remember what it was called.

After getting her LTW completed I sent her to find a man. She found some traveling French man named Eugene Petit and had a son, Max.
Max is my experiment with the Firefighter Superhero, to do this the Sim needs to save the life of 30 Sims. His traits are Brave, Athletic, Daredevil, Good Sense of Humor and Handy.
Handy, Brave/or Daredevil and Athletic are a must for this LTW. You need a lot of handy skill points to progress as well as athletic skills.
Other than random fires you also get earthquakes! This freaked me out the first time it happened because the whole screen shook and there was loud noises. Kid thought that there was a big truck outside when he heard it. The cool part about an earthquake in the Sims is that you get to rescue people that are buried.
Max has rescued 15 people in the last two sims days because of two earthquakes back to back. This is actually a really fun profession, IMO. He gets tons of medals.
I also decided to play around with vampires with Max after his BFF Mandy got bit and they started to autonomously flirt.
I also got a kick at that fact that a romantic interaction is "I'm a firefighter" which causes the other sim to swoon. LOL.
It's actually creepy to see a vampire turn a sim. Gotta say, it freaked me out a little...
I also thought that it would happen right away but apparently it takes a while to take effect. This popped up the next day.
So far I'm having a really fun time playing with my Sims 3. Finally. I'm really excited for the next two EP's but I do notice that I'm not... addicted to this the way I was with Sims 2. Maybe because I'm still a bit cautious about this game or something. I don't know if I'll ever feel the fever that I felt for Sims 2 on the Sims 3 but it's a nice way to spend some down time every once in a while.
