I impressed my brother tonight, and possibly annoyed him greatly. I went with him to his clay class. Now mind you, he's been doing clay for years now, since early on in high school. My brother has given various clay things away as gifts for years, he's very good. So I went with him tonight. To mess around, to learn a little, get my hands dirty ( Read more... )

Yes I was impressed annoyed, not in the slightest, while your progress was quite fast (enough to make some who are just weeks past their first clay days jealous) it helps to have constant coaching the whole time (partly motivated by my teachers watching my teaching technique), if anything I'd consider it a compliment. And as you are not letting it go to your head (that much) I'll keep coaching you in an effort to get trhough the rest of the process Glazing is tricky.

Yes, the concentrated coaching was an excellent thing, thank you so much. Of course, it helps that you actually know what you're doing and you did a good job of explaining things. I don't think your teacher has anything to complain about. I forgot to mention glazing, probably because I don't imagine I'll try for anything too spectacular in that department. I do remember just how many options your teacher went over during the lecture (a LOT) and I imagine that there are more. I'm glad you're taking it as a compliment, it should be! Again, thanks so much :).
