anyone who says they're going to miss mallet assembly is, as john robinson would say, living in a fantasy world. it's a building. it's not even a building, it's an apparition. "assembly" implies some sense of brotherhood is present between members, and that just does not exist. it's true that certain members have found small groups of loyal, ( Read more... )

Jesus Christ on a cracker, what the hell?!

Yeah, I have problems with Trevor Jay and a few other Malleteers. I do not, repeat, do not have a problem with Luke Anthony. In fact, I owe him an apology that is long overdue.

Luke: You were right about Trevor, I was wrong. I'm sorry. I just wish you could've told me the truth in a less ascerbic manner.

With that said, I hope the Mallet Assembly can resolve its differences and become what it was supposed to be.

Also, I'd like to point out that worlds are colliding! This is like the fifth act of a political thriller, when everyone turns over his cards and shows his true colors. Worlds are colliding!

to bess, from fantasy land
i have nothing but optimism for the upcoming semester/year. i believe the assembly is ready to move together in the right direction.

i (and by "i," i mean "fucking andy") burned you a copy of both Ryan Adams cds and will be mailing them out this week.

zac, cole, bess, will, luke, michelle
you have all become, to different degrees, jaded with the assembly and its politics. it is for this reason, because you no doubt have very specific ideas and thoughts about the way things should be handled, that i would love to be able to seek your council in the future. i know that you have all long since lost interest in mallet politics and goings-on, but i value your input and ideas.

hopelessly overwhelmed and floundering,

I have no doubts about your ability to efficiently run the assembly, CB. You've got a sensible head on your shoulders. Just don't listen to anybody whose advice starts with, "I propose...", "Wouldn't it be awesome if...", or, "Let me tell you how it is..." Also, and this is going to sound unfair, I wouldn't let any freshmen try to influence political issues. What do they know, they just arrived. Besides freshmen being inexperienced, most of the problems Mallet had this past year resulted from actions taken by stupid, arrogant freshman who don't listen to authority. Make it clear that people are responsible for guests, meaning if you are one of the few who know an offensive person you are responsible for his actions whether you invited him or not. Oh, last thing: the punishment should fit the crime whether you happen to like the person or not. If a friend gets mad at you for doing your job, fuck that person. Just make sure you execute your decision fairly and unbiasedly. Mallet's major problem right now is there are too many ( ... )
