After the first round of
got_exchange we had a surprisingly successful comment fic meme going for a while (
here's a list of all the fics that were written last time), so I thought it might be fun to do this again. (Like last time, it's posted on the mod account journal because I don't want to enable anonymous comments on the exchange community.)
I changed the

When her brother left for Crakehall, when she pulled him into the stables to bid him a proper farewell before their father came down to see him off, they’d been of a height, both with long curls and soft cheeks and bodies made up of straight lines and flat planes.
But now he stands a hand-span taller than she, all long legs and broadening shoulders and wiry muscles. After they steal away into the quiet room in the rear tower and bolt the door, he grips her tight- his hands are big, big and rough- and all but pushes her onto the bed ( ... )

This is fascinating, because it's a question of mine about who drives their youthful indiscretions. Cersei seems to control the relationship in general, but as you rightly point out, Jaime is the impulsive one, the one most likely to leap, to make terrible decisions, when he's carried away by the idea of them, while she knows exactly what is at stake. You have me convinced here that this could be just how it happened.
I like the moment when she's worried he'll have hair on his chest. Something that would make him different from her. The ultimate turn off for Cersei.
Lovely work, my dear.

When I first read the prompt, my immediate reaction was "Oh, of COURSE Cersei would have initiated this." But then I thought about it... We do learn in canon that Jaime's the dominant one in bed, even though Cersei dominates him everywhere else. And you're right- he's much more reckless and less likely to see the big picture.
So psyched to see you in this exchange- I can't wait to read some wonderful stories from you!

I'm so glad you write my favorite pairings. Hehe...
I really enjoyed reading your fills last round, and I thought I might dash out some fills myself this time. I already did a fill, when I should have been grading. My students would be so pleased. ;)

I love that Cersei's the one who hesitates because though she seems to be in control of the relationship in the present, she certainly stands as the more cautious of the two and if I really think about it (and tbh I didn't much before this prompt lol), if there was moment of doubt I could easily see it coming from her and not Jaime.
If Jaime enters her, truly claims her, they will never be able to make themselves forget. Before this, there was always the possibility, the idea in the crevices of Cersei’s mind that she might move on from this, that she might marry a man she loves and give herself to him willingly, that she might remember these secret trysts with her twin as nothing but childish games, something to recall with a wistful fondness and a hint of embarrassment.ohh this is PERFECT. I love her idealism here (I mean, this is the girl who drew a picture of her and Rhaegar on a dragon after all *sighs*)--though I don't doubt that she has always been clever (and perhaps even far more worldly than girls of ( ... )

I definitely feel that Cersei's the more pragmatic of the two- if things had gone differently (like if she'd married Rhaegar, for example, or if her mother had survived), I kind of doubt whether the physical relationship between the twins would have escalated to the point that it did. Even though the Jaime/Cersei relationship is in every way reckless and dangerous, Jaime's always the one willing to take it a step farther, while Cersei's got at least one foot (or one pinky toe...) grounded in reality. All part of the sad, sexy Lannister twin tragedy.

Agreed! If either of the Lannister twins can be considered a hopeless romantic, it's definitely Jaime, not Cersei.
