Comment fic meme #2

Mar 05, 2012 15:28

After the first round of got_exchange we had a surprisingly successful comment fic meme going for a while (here's a list of all the fics that were written last time), so I thought it might be fun to do this again. (Like last time, it's posted on the mod account journal because I don't want to enable anonymous comments on the exchange community.)

I changed the ( Read more... )

The title is from 'Saying Your Names' by Richard Siken - since it seems only fitting. And, yes, hi, it's another Stannis/Davos during/shortly after the siege fic because, for some reason, that works for me. I just wish it were cheerier.____ ( ... )

I like this! It would be interesting to see from Stannis's perspective too.

So glad you liked it! ♥ Stannis' POV would be interesting. He is such a bubbling cesspit of repressed emotion.

I have a feeling season 2 is going to make me much more invested in Stannis. What can I say, I love the show best. XD

Anyway: how are you, dear? It feels like aaaages since we spoke.

I'm so excited to meet the show's version of Stannis. I can understand loving the show best - but there's just so much in the books that I can't resist.

I'm alright, though kind of madly busy since it's the end of term. And, yess, it does feel like a long time since we last spoke - probably not helped by my lack of LJ updates. Oops. How're you doing? Not completely drowning in work, I hope.

BUSY LIKE A BEE, as always. But we're into week 8! Huzzah. Hope you're not feeling too stressed out... I'm looking forward to the Easter break.

HELLO THERE FAVOURITE PERSON IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. What's it like to be so perfect every day in your life? :D

Fitting title, considering that I was thinking of that exact poem. (Insert mad squeeing about Richard Siken here.)

So I love this, unsurprisingly. I find bold, cocky young Davos utterly intriguing. I had never thought of that before, but it makes sense and I love it. And younger Stannis smiling just a little bit ... and being all serious again the next day and insisting that Davos get a proper reward, and MOST OF ALL DAVOS NOT SAYING STANNIS' NAME AGAIN BECAUSE IT MIGHT REMEMBER HIM OF THAT ONE TIME OH MY GOD YES. I'd love to see a longer version of this because i really love the idea. And as rachel2205 said, Stannis' perspective would also be intriguing.

Also, you and your beautiful ideas need to post some prompts. ;)

OH HI THERE BRAINTWIN. I am so glad I could, yet again, bring one of your amazing ideas to life to your satisfaction. ;D

(Mad Richard Siken squeeing right back at you.)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I definitely think Davos must have been a bit cocky to have even attempted to break the siege of Storm's End. But, yes, there so has to be a reason Davos never breaks the boundary of propriety regarding titles. I have no idea whether I'll ever get around to writing more of it or tackling Stannis' POV but you can always bug me about it. ;D

I really should post some prompts but I want them to be good ones. Hmm.

Not like your fills have ever disappointed me. ^^

Cocky Davos definitely makes sense. And he must have been a bit high on the success of breaking that siege, and Stannis -does- look so young that he might just dare to say something like that. I just have a weird obsession with names, especially when it comes to people whose names rarely used.
I will definitely bug you about a longer version because I want to know everything about this night. ;)

I just spam away with whatever I can think of. I always admire people who post such beautiful, concise, neat little prompts while I ramble on.

I'm loving Davos' guilt/shame here. It's amazingly hot and the understated nature of his affections is wonderful.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Davos' feelings for Stannis are always really wonderful - he cares so deeply that it's sort of magical.

This was hot. Very hot. And manages it do that without being explicit, which is amazing. Needless to say, I loved this ;).

At first I didn't believe that Davos would ever have the gall to make such a request of Stannis, but then again, he's the only one in the series who is ever able to "defy" (though with good reason) Stannis without getting himself killed--like the whole scene where Davos spirits away Edric Storm.

I second a request from many comments above to see this scene from Stannis' POV. Though, knowing him, he wouldn't be able to properly talk about in his own head.
