Here we go for the post-exchange comment fic meme. (Posted on the mod account as usual because I don't want to enable anonymous comments on the exchange comm.)

Oh I love this prompt! I can't seem to write any pairing tonight but this, this I think I can. Then again, it's a bloody drabble tbh ^^.

We are Gods. And this is our Word. So while the cold winds of Winter blow and the snow piles so very deep, we swell with life. Because that's what we are: life. The humans, the others, they are waiting to die but we? we passed that frontier.

Inside our chest is the pure white snow from the frozen shore, and in our majestic eyes is a cold furnace that even Nature itself can not bend to Her laws.

We follow the human scent to share with them our glory. Not hunting but saving them. Winter opens the roads for us and shows us the path to eternity. At our sight, some drop to their knee and pleads. But it always ends with their pulse slowing and becoming one with us all. In silence.

Civilization will never look more clean.

this is terrifyingly, hauntingly, chillingly beautiful. WOW. I'm getting some T.S. Eliot vibes ('this is the way the world ends... not with a bang, but with a whimper')
