If there is one thing Sansa learned in King's Landing, it's that the more glitz and glitter there is, the greater is the ugliness and filth underneath it. So she didn’t bat an eyelash when her husband turned away artisans, nor protested when he melted as much gold and sold as many jewels from the treasury as the propriety would allow. She’d rather be surrounded by bare walls than see another riot. And she understood his desire to have nothing to do with Casterly Rock all too well

Thank you so much for the fill. :D I love how Sansa doesn't mind the lack of finery anymore, but she still appreciates the gift. And of course Stannis would admit that Davos picked it. I really love how you write Stannis and Davos through Sansa's eyes. And the little kiss is so sweet. <3 Thank you.

this is so wonderful!!!

I love her little giggle and his typical Stannis reaction. And how she has already matured so much - she values honesty over false courtesy, she knows not to be offended by his blunt words.

And her thoughtful return gift is just so perfect and in character. And OF COURSE Stannis would appreciate a practical gift of lumber, oh Stannis... :)

Thank you! Sansa has gone a long way from the brat in the first book already and I'd like to think she'll become more wolf than fish eventually. ;)
