Some members liked the idea of having a kink meme/comment fic meme on got_exchange, especially since the other ASOIAF/GoT kink memes are fairly dead at the moment. (It's only posted on the mod account journal because I don't want anonymous comments on the exchange comm.)

I couldn't resist. Also this totally goes AU but bear with me.

Selyse can’t stop thinking about the wedding.

She turns in her bed, over and over again, trying to just sleep, but it’s all for naught. As ill-advised as the choice for the groom was, she can’t help thinking that it had been far happier than her own. In the day she might talk about trying to convince Stannis to marry again in R’hollor’s fire, but in the night it’s harder to believe it. Deep down, she knows that it would be no different. Lord of Light or not, it wouldn’t be different than it had been when they first married.

It’s the envy that prevents her from sleeping. The girl surely didn’t look as if she utterly disliked her lord husband, and said lord husband looked indeed pleased with his lady wife. Stannis had looked as if he was performing some duty and hadn’t even had the grace to hide it. One would think that a lord would have more sense than some wildling

I always get crack ideas, but when I start to write them it never turns out funny. Cherish your talent. ;)

The whole "stealing back" thing just made me imagine a crack sequel in which Stannis DOES steal her back and they finally fall in love because he realised he can't live without her and they have passionate sex and finally have a son. But that's more absurd than funny.

Selyse needs to die or get stolen, yeah. What a horrible, unpleasant person. That comment sealed my love for Stannis/Jon. It was so ... petty.

Lololol I could get behind Stannis wanting to steal her back only because it'd be a honor thing, but.. if I think about it I just have laughing fits. I think it'd be the one time in his life he'd totally conveniently forget about it.

Unpleasant is totally the right word :/// She has such a talent for making you want to strangle her. And I tend to get defensive of the people I like so whenever she was being utterly horrible to Jon I was there seething. (And then Jon made those snarky little comments in his head and I was like 'go Jon, PETTY COMMENTS ARE ALLOWED'.)

He'd definitely forget about his honour there ... Stannis is generally less interested in his personal honour, and he'd be like "I have no time for this nonsense!" So he'd just forget about it. And he could remarry. ;)

She really is awful. I thought writing a fic about young Selyse, getting into her head and making her a more human, understandable character would help ... but I still can't stand her. ;)
I was laughing so hard. If Jon falls any harder for Stannis he'll break his bones. ADWD really made me love Jon.

Thanks for Your story! Poor Selyse deserves, in least, for some happiness. And His Grace could be marrried again and perhaps have more children.
