The Black Plague. It was still kicking around Europe at the time the Sexbys are from. There are three different strains, but it's definitely not the third, because there still isn't a cure for that one and what's going around here is treatable nowadays. From all the coughing and fevers, and the apparent lack of swollen glands and subdermal bleeding, I'm putting my money on the pneumonic plague. It's airborne and the second-most lethal of the three, but still totally curable now. It had a 90-95% mortality rate way back when, though.

One of the other doctors said it was the first, bubonic strain, but I don't buy it. That one's spread by flea bites, and people are getting this just from sharing space with infected people. Dude needs to go back to medical school.

The third one, the septicemic strain, caused blood to coagulate in the veins and usually killed people on the same day the symptoms showed up, so we'd all be fucked if it were that one.

Nah, but I'll treat myself for it anyway after I get to everyone else. I'm wearing gear, but I keep exposing myself to people who have it, so I'd rather not take chances and wind up choking my lungs out.

It's not that bad, really. I've treated a couple myself. Una and O'Brien. Una's in bad shape but O'Brien seems fine. I've heard from Armand, Bob, Rex and Martha that they are ill, but I haven't seen them personally. Also, Jack came in contact with the Sexbys, as he was the first one to see them.

I've gotten to Martha, Bob and Rex. Armand's in the infirmary, so Southern Comfort'll have to do him.

Jack's a doctor, he can treat himself.
