A bloody fantastic story is presently updating on Ashwinder, about once a week. It's not exactly short - presently at 24 chapters and a ballpark 220k words - but if you ever touch HP fanfic with a bargepole, it is highly worth reading.

Better that moment than some of the *other* chapter endings so far ;P I did warn you about the WIP :( Sorry :( But the writer does update quite faithfully, and I trust will finish the story.
