Yesterday I went back to work after a week off ( I didn't actually go to Kentwell as planned owing to a complex and annoying set of circumstances that could only have happned to me, including no personal transport, no tent, no money anisotropica splitting up with fleching_death and even less money ( Read more... )

That's awful. I'm a first aider, and I'd have given you the water.

Just out of interest, if you're conscious no-one can make you get in an ambulance if you really don't want to. They might have asked you to sign something saying you'd been advised to go to hospital and had declined (I've seen that done when someone had a bang on the head), but they couldn't force you (apart from some extreme circumstances).

I think you should complain very strongly to your manager, HR, Health and Safety and anyone else who will listen. Seven miles whilst dehydrated, that's ridiculous.

I thought that I had my bus pass with me....... It was only when I got to the hospital and rummaged through the tescos bag of doom that I remembered having left it next to the fridge in the staff room when I put my sarnies away. So much for an ill-gotten afternoon off work!
