OMG poor Freya! I had just assumed they would make a small incision, drain it, and maybe she'd have a stitch or two. That looks terrible! Give her a (gentle) hug for me!

Poor Freya. That's gotta feel very itchy. I've never had to deal with a hematoma so I appreciate the education and don't mind the pics. Of course it would be different if it were MY dog...

holy crap! that wasnt at all what i'd imagined when you mentioned she needed surgery to stop the ear from filling back up again after they drained it. that must have come as a major shock to you! damn. poor freya. i cant help but wonder if that would feel like having your ear pierced a hundred times. oooo it burns just looking at it!
