"You know, forgive me if I don't feel bad that a mafia thug was shot. Bring me the guy, I'll prosecute, but in private? I'll tell him he gave the guy what he deserved."

Nadine didn't bother to close the door quietly, perhaps intending for the person on the other end of the phone to hear it. A few moments later, without even saying anything in parting, Nadine snapped the phone shut and pinched the bridge of her nose. She obviously expected to come home to an empty apartment. She set her briefcase down before she realized the TV was on.

She looked at Harvey, slightly surprised. "Didn't expect you home." She'd finally started really using the word. "I'd have brought dinner."

He looked up and smiled. "Italian is on the way. Ordered your usual."

"Thanks." Nadine smiled and shrugged off her coat. She went to the closet and hung it up, but not without a momentary-- almost unnoticeable-- hesitation before opening the door. "You're sweet."

"You all right? That conversation sounded a little intense..." He got up, going over to her, a hand to her waist.

When they were finished, Harvey held Nadine close to him, running a finger down her arm.

Nadine curled up to him and shifted to lightly kiss him.

He kissed her back. "Thanks for the files," he murmured.

She pulled back slightly and looked up at him. "Hm?"
