got it. you dont have to wait for them to comment, you can just go to the admin console and type

ban_set User and put their name were user is.

yes,
you never even of had to exchange a single word..i just saw them on my list of people that had added me and so i banned them.

That ban's them from commenting. But they can still see all public entries and can still "friend" the user, as I understand it.

It would be nice if you could prevent someone from "friending" you at all, but you can't.
