I am currently on a major, major Hamlet kick, and it's resulting in all sorts of inane doodles popping up, among other things. Again, this is mostly the fault of blinkidybah's Shakespeare class, but HOMG, Hamlet. <3 <3 You are so wangsty, yet so goddamn funny at the saaammee tiiiime. Also OMG HAMLET YES. I actually really like the version with Mel Gibson, Helena Bonham Carter, Ian Holm, etc. I had a Hamlet/Horatio icon at one point :x

So despite being a "hardcore" book fan, I actually enjoyed the movie a lot! Of course, most (all?) of the characters were played somewhat differently than what I imagine to be "my" verions... especially Ford and Zaphod... but what I really liked was that the thing was quite different, but still true to the HHGG theme at the same time. In fact, I would've enjoyed it a lot less if it was just a cloned copy of it; the radio drama is different from the TV series that is different from the book that is different from the comics, etc etc ( ... )

Never got around to seeing the BBC version, either O: though I've heard the radio drama. <3 <3 <3 My thing is that like... seeing a new version is vastly different than hearing a new version, 'cos my mental images of things are unaffected when I'm just listening. I don't want what happened to my mental images of LOTR and Harry Potter to happen to HGTTG. I love it too much. :x

I stopped looking at him as Mel Gibson and saw him as Hamlet, which means he actually did a decent job acting this time 8D I am NOT fond of Mel whatsoever anymore (Apocalypto made me want to scream with rage at how much he shat upon Mayan culture, nevermind all the other bullshit he's been up to lately).

I KNOW RITE?!?!! I WAS SO SHOCKED! I'm also kind of surprised nobody is getting 10! 4 and 6 are a little less obvious. ^^ In fact, 4 might even need a hint, since everyone's seen it but there's not really a memorable line without giving away the house.
