Science can't explain everything. What kind of a world would we live in if it could? It would all be too easy. Not enough of a challenge.

People do idiotic things sometimes. Maybe it's what makes us human. Maybe letting someone hurt you is what Jesus meant when he said that love was laying down one's life for another.

Maybe every person is worth someone sticking around and not being shaken by one moment's pain.

But sticking around through pain and actual friendships are entirely different. As I said in the original post, I believe in forgiveness and grace extended to all humanity. What seriously confuses me is the infectious trend towards exclusivity. Not in the sense that one individual can only be friends with a certain number and no more (that's silly, I have at least 1000 people who would call me their friend). But the trend to have certain relationships closer and more intimate. I don't see how that gets humanity anywhere.
