nooo, parentals who deliberately copy my taste in whatever to curry my favour! It doesn't work! I'd have more respect for them if they would be themselves, rather than trying to pretend to like the stuff I do

I think what I'm getting at is parents want to be their kid's best friend, but we don't want that. We want them to be our parents.
