I will be so happy when this ordeal is over. I've been trying really hard to have a new and lighter attitude about Mardi Gras. It isn't working. If I weren't dead dog tired I'd make me a t-shirt that says "NO BEER - NO RESTROOM - NO WHINING!" The blatant stupidity increases as it gets closer to Mardi Gras Day. My geographical skills aren't perfect, but I'm sometimes horrified by just how bad your average American's grasp of a world map seems to be. (I realized recently that a roomful of very bright, well-educated professionals contained only one or two who could quickly locate the Congo...which is several times larger than Texas).
We need to focus on that in public schooling a bit more, I think.
And by "a bit more" I mean "begin teaching geography".

What was the girl asking for? an item you don't sell, or the right to use a restroom? (the puppydog face? on another woman? One who is already angry with you?...unique choice)

And who is "the DUI Dr."? An attorney, I assume, lol?

The DUI Dr is an annoying attorney with even more annoying commercials litering the airwaves. He's runner-up in the sleaziest/cheesiest lawyer in the area.

The dumb girl was trying to whine her way into the employee restroom. I'm not sure why she thought the little act would work other than she'd probably had too much to drink.

My co-worker Samir is from Algeria. He said someone asked him about Al Qaida and "hunting the terrorists in the mountains." He was confused at first and then realized they were talking about AFGHANISTAN! He explained that Algeria is in Africa, not Asia. They told him he was wrong because Afghanistan is in the Middle East, they watch CNN so they should know. Riiiight.

*hand to face* confusing Algeria/Afghanistan isn't the part that gets me. I mean, everyone has gaps in their knowledge. It's the obnoxious "you're wrong!" lecturing of a complete stranger who is TELLING you he's not a native of the country you think he is that goes one step beyond, lol.
