A simple hand-written sign in a small record shop and the tickets had sold out within hours. People were lining up, getting impatient, wanting to see them again after such a long time.
Bela couldn't believe it was really happening. 'This is a mistake,' he thought. 'What if it doesn't work? What if they don't like us any more? Five years of silence are like centuries in the music business.'
He felt Farin's hand grasp his own.
"Ready?"
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Too late to back down now.
He looked up and grinned. "Let's rock."

"So, how long have you been doing it?"
"Doing what?" Bela asked bringing the bottle to his lips.
"Having sex with Farin."
The drummer nearly choked. "What?!"he sputtered, putting the bottle down and wiping his chin with the back of his hand.
Rod took a long drag at his cigarette. "Do you think I'm blind? All those furtive glances, the little touches, it's impossible not to notice. And I'd have to be deaf too not to hear you when we're on tour. You sure are vocal, aren't you?"
Bela's first thought was to curse those damn thin hotel walls; then himself for being so loud; then Farin for causing him to be loud in the first place.
"I... we..."
"Look, I know that's none of my business. You want to keep it private? Fine. But I thought we were friends. You know you can trust me."
Bela was ashamed at the sight of Rod's hurt expression.
"We just... didn't know how to break the subject."
They sat in silence for a while.
"It started in the '80s, when we were sharing a flat. I don't even know how it all started, one thing just led to another."
"And you've been together since then?" Rod asked, a touch of amazement in his voice.
Bela laughed. "Oh God, no! Ours isn't even a real relationship. It's always been like this, we have girlfriends and affairs, but sometimes we just need to, you know..."
"Fuck each other's brains out?"
The drummer shrugged. "Is that going to be a problem for you?"
Rod shook his head. "I don't care what you do or with whom. I just thought I deserved to know the truth." He put out what was left of his cigarette and smiled. "Besides, you could use an accomplice. It's a wonder no one has ever walked in on you."
Bela smiled and took a sip of beer. Rod didn't need to know about that one time he and Farin had been late for soundcheck and Patty had come looking for them...
