It is a different mindset to get into once you decide you want to be a photographer - as opposed to someone who just takes photographs on their point-and-shoot digital camera.
Suddenly theres settings, zooms, lighting, backgrounds, processing, white balance and all manner of other things that mean that you need to really think about what you're trying to do.
It's kind of thrilling, but like my other hobbies (PS3 and Writing/recording music) demands some time and study.
