How to keep eyeliner from smudging?

Checked the memories but didn't exactly find what I'm looking for

I use cover girl pencil eye liner. I heat it up for a second with a lighter, let it cool for a couple of seconds (so i don't burn myself) put it on. It goes on dark, easy and doesn't come off/smear!
