Jen - Regrettably, a quick search on the 'net finds that this appears to be a hoax. I found three sites, attributing it to 'robin, a girl [someone] works with', to a senior citizen and 60+ year resident of New Orleans, and to a resident of Baton Rouge. None of those characteristics matches the 'war zone, gun present' commentary of the letter. The EARLIEST appearance is found in the forum of a website called barrelhorseworld.com. The entire posting community on the thread reads like a self-congratulatory strokefest of the right

As the comment above shows, yeah, it's a hoax. You can tell by the right-wing hatred permeated through its text.
