Having taken the RoVan into town, Xandros returns with a few bags and a brown box. The box has holes punched in it. He looks around, spotting Vincent, he says with a grin "Guess what I got?"
Vincent half turns in his chair to look at Xandros. "I would gather you have a few bags and a box with holes in it, at a glance," he says in his ever-dispassionate voice. There's a pause. The Sluagh shrugs. "I fear it must be my timing," he mutters to himself.
Xandros smirks at Vincent's straight-man attempt at humor. "Well besides that. It's what in the box." He puts down the bags on his bed, still holding the box. "I had lunch with a friend from back home. And he thought I might be provide a good home for her." Xandros walks over to Vincent and removes the cover of the box, revealing a chilean rose hair tarantula ( http://www.thebts.co.uk/gallery_images/rose3.jpg ). "Her name is Lorena. My friend had her, but then she escaped, and his mom freaked out. So he was forced to give her up. I thought he just wanted to get together for lunch, but then he sprung this on me. You like her?" Lorena looks around when the box cover is removed, unaccustomed to her new surroundings.
Vincent puts his hand out to the tarantula, palm up. He lets the creature start to creeep up his wrist and arm. "Exquisite, friend Xandros," he breathes. "She is simply exquistite." He makes some clicking sounds with his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "We simply must provide her with suitable accomidations." Vincent pauses. "What, pray tell, does she find nourishment in?"
Lorena continues to look around curiously at her new surroundings. "Well, I bought a tank at the pet store in town. They're going to deliver it tomorrow. Until then she'll have to live in the box. I picked up a hide-box for her, and a water dish too." Lorena starts to crawl up over the edge of the box, looking at Vincent. "Dave said she eats insects. He usually feeds her crickets from the pet store. I'm sure we can find suitable food for her."
