Seriously, a supernova that will destroy the GALAXY? I thought I had misheard this line the first time I watched Star Trek, but watching it again merely confirmed that they really need to hire a science advisor for the next film.

I do not recall them saying this? I know they said the super nova would destroy the Romulan home planet, but they never eluded (not that I got from it at least), that the super nova would destroy the galaxy. That's just silly.....Star Trek silly.

They never alluded, Spock straight up said it when he mind-melded with Kirk to deliver the flashback (flashforward?) scene.

I heard it too when I saw it. I don't remember exactly what was said but maybe he was referencing the fact that it is was caused the alternate reality to happen?

HAHHAHAH I re-watched some old Star Trek episodes, and the dialog is not all that different. I was hearing things that sounded down right silly.
