Mission: Impossible [locked to summonerbanshee]

It had to be the stupidest bet he had ever made, and that was saying something - how many wagers had he made with Mao by now that he still owed her for? But those were simple payments like money, or buying a beer, or whatever. No, the stakes here were much, much higher. A life of servitude awaited him if he faltered in this mission... and given ( Read more... )

It had been a real internal struggle whether or not to trust Kurz's self control by letting him come to the Spring at the same time as her. But it was late in the day, and as suspicious as she was... well, it wasn't really fair to make him wait until the day after to get his turn. So at the expense of possibly getting peeped at, the kunoichi caved and allowed the blonde menace to accompany her to the Spring's steamy interior. In all honesty, if he did peep, he was the one that had the most to lose.

Luckily there was a sizable wall seperating the genders, and the steam was so thick that even if someone scaled the wall they would see pretty much nothing. Or if they did, the other two ladies in the same pool would likely kick up a fuss about it if Sheena herself didn't notice. Handy dandy defense system!

But oh man, was that hot water soothing ( ... )

Okay. He'd just... sit here. Alone. Doing nothing. For god-knows-how-long, until Sheena was finished and dressed and oh my god this was so boring. He grimaced as his gaze shifted skyward - he'd already mulled over the possibility of peering over the wall, but he could tell from how steamy the men's side was that he wouldn't be able to see anything through the steam - to say nothing of the elevation and angle, it was just a recipe for disaster.

Even knowing that he ended up pulling himself out of the water, approaching the wall with his hands on his hips - he could just barely hear the other side through it, so... if there were other girls, maybe he could hear them too? Silently he crouched down against the wall, cupping his ear against it to try to get a handle on what was - or wasn't - happening on Sheena's side.

Besides, this wasn't violating the deal. He was just... listening to make sure she didn't fall asleep in the water. That's dangerous, you know.

And indeed, the other two females were chattering away like two cackling hens - talking about everything girly from clothing to the latest village gossip. Sheena herself didn't have the faintest idea what they were talking about anyway. Better to stay out of topics like those. But the good news was the lingering, constant ache in her shoulders from long hours spent hunched over a scribe's desk with a quill and ink was starting to ease slightly with each passing minute, along with other minor hurts that she didn't notice before.

So, settling her elbows on the edges of the spring, she tilted her head back and let herself drift between wakefulness and a light drowsing state lulled on by the noisy gossiping of her poolmates.

However, by the time they got up and left, she was so deeply relaxed as to not notice having the entire area all to herself. Not that it was a bad thing - she could move about freely if she so wished. It was just that she was so comfortable, what was the point of moving and losing what perfect spot she had right now

He sighed a little as he heard the other women talking about... nothing good. Come on, at a hot spring girls were supposed to talk about things like comparing their bust sizes, or washing each other's backs, or washing each other's fronts if they were into that sort of thing. But no, these two were full of such dull material that for a little while he opted to slink back into the water again, sighing as the hot water did nothing to lower his appetite - and no, he wasn't thinking about food.

He could only float about on his own for so long, though, and it was just a matter of time until curiosity got the better of him. Maybe they were having a better talk, now, or... huh. Funny, he couldn't hear anything over there, just the sound of the water lapping against the edge of the springs, and his brow furrowed in confusion. Well the girls were gone, but... he didn't hear Sheena moving around over there at all. Had she ditched him?

Now that would just be meanHe crept along the tall wooden wall, searching for even the tiniest crevice ( ... )
