religion professors

does anyone have any experience with Kelly Brown Douglas, John Rose, or Steven DeCaroli?  I'm looking for a religion professor to be on my thesis review board, but I haven't yet had the chance to take classes in the department, so I don't know anyone at all.  I'm afraid of blindly emailing and winding up with someone horrific... thoughts on any of ( Read more... )

Yeah me too, well an intro course with him, loved that class. Wanted to have him again for the two philosophy courses I signed up for the next year but he was on some kind of leave.

i'm in love with steve DeCaroli. Like i have a serious crush on him. He's a really fantastic person, GREAT to have 1 on 1 conversations with, and really committed to his job and his students. I think he'd be a good choice to have on your thesis board.

i have heard only wonderful, wonderful things about kelly brown douglas. she is tough and will make you think. if those things are appealing to you, i'd definitely recommend her.

I'm a graduate of the philosophy department, and you really cant go wrong. I havent taken classes with Brown-Douglas but I would say figure out whose area of interest best matchs up with your topic and go in that direction. I'd bet there are alot of people here who could guide you in the appropriate direction.

Also if you were just looking for someone to do a blind 'yes,' regardless of quality, my understanding is that none of these three individuals are likley to be of much help there.
