i am sitting in a hot taxi, it's 95 degrees, i am in the middle of the capital of ghana. i am driving past the slums and people trying to sell cocoa and water and fruit in the streets. i am trying to shove my big book into my purse and think about if people in ghana read novels. then i thought about the time you told me you wanted to read the book "driving school" in elementary school but couldn't because it was too hard and you were really jealous of your friend jess had read the whole thing. then i realized jess nomack went to eca last year for a period of time and i knew that i fucking knew who she was but never figured it out until now.
