I found out the other day that The Long Journey Home has been accepted into the Annecy Film Festival. Billie gave me the news, but I did not get excited because he is super positive about everything. I asked around at work, and apparently it is a big deal. I still have a difficult time looking at the film without seeing mistakes, but the news ( Read more... )

You know, looking at this piece really made me realize what it is that I like so much about your work. It seems as if there's movement in pretty much everything you do. Well, or maybe there's movement in pretty much everything I've seen of what you do, and I'm really a fan of that. Even the most static of subjects seems to leap off of the screen like it's breathing and living, even when it's fantastical or improbable or even just a little scribble. I think you're a magician! Presto art-o!

Thank you very much, Root. I think "presto art-o" is the best compliment I can get about my drawings, because they are actually belaboured.

so can we expect a viewing of the finished product in the near future? (y'know, after you've finished your graphic novel frenzy and all)
