With the new canon out and so many Neville/Luna stories being written, I have a question for the members of the community. Would you like to keep the community as is, or allow the community to have open posting?
Please feel free to vote in the poll. The answers are viewable only to me. If you'd like to add more in the comments, please do so.

That said, I like being able to post my fics in multiple places, since not everyone is part of every community. I think opening open posting every so often might be a good idea, but I'm honestly fine whichever way it goes.

That's what I'm leaning towards at the moment. I'm so glad people are actually voting and responding to this!

The only reason I do not participate here at all, even in challenges, is because I really can't get behind a comm with moderated posting (granted, I don't write much het, but I considered participating here until your comm rules made me go O.o). Quite honestly, I hate moderated posting.
I have been fairly involved with communities like lupin_snape, where they post challenges on a regular basis and as well as allowing open posting, and people still participate in the challenges just as much as they write their own fic. I realise that this is a much smaller comm that lupin_snape, but, if anything, I think opening posting will invite more activity, not lost focus.
But that's just my two cents. Heh, I seem to be the odd man out on this, though. *g*

Hmm...I only started moderating the actual posts to keep DH spoilers away. I was planning on having moderated posting for three months, but I'm actually going to get rid of it, because if someone hasn't read the book by now, they really shouldn't be hanging around a HP community.
Or do you mean because I ask that people don't post their stories outside of challenge fics?
I really appreciate your input! :D

Can I post my Neville/Luna story or artwork here?
In a word, no. If you want your story or artwork to be included in the recommendations, check out this link to have it added. The moderator will add the piece to the recommendations.
The idea of going through a mod and possibly having to wait until my fic was up was a huge turn off for me. Regardless, even if the comm is not technically on moderated status, it equates to about the same thing to me if any non-challenge fic has to be emailed to a mod and go into a queue to be posted (or recced, I'm not really clear on the difference or your rule here). If I'm wrong about this rule, please correct me. I'm of the opinion (and again, I seem to be the only one, judging by your comments :P) that a comm should either be strictly a challenge comm (like the various 100 word drabble comms I participate in), or a comm with challenges and open posting - not a challenge comm that allows non-challenge fic, but ( ... )

You've helped me think through a lot of things, which I really appreciate! I've taken down the F.A.Q. for now, while I decide what I want to do. :D
