Sadness in our family

I got a call today from my youngest son's father earlier today to let me know that his wife's father - my son's step-grandfather but in my mind his grandfather - is in the hospital  and not doing well. He may not make it thru the day or he may turn it around. They really don't know. His body is slowly deteriorating and they aren't sure why.

You all are in my thoughts. I've not had the pleasure of meeting your kids yet, but that doesn't take away from my heart going out to them. Maybe his Dad will have a change of heart. I'll be praying for words of wisdom for you too.

It sounds like multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow that makes your bones crumble and break.

It is my hope that his health will improve, and if that isn't possible, that his pain will be well-managed and he'll be able to communicate on some level with his loved ones.

My thoughts are with you all.
