I'm with stupid....

Feb 09, 2004 13:33

I have some excuses for this absence - crazy work, houseguests, and some personal difficulties among a couple of friends. I may talk about all of that at some point. Right now I just want to comment on the things that have recently made me feel like a moron ( Read more... )

It's a company! Their last names are Barry, Bette and Led Duke. Like a law firm, Solmon, Smith and Whozits.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to find it confusing.

I'm going to scope out my friends' page now.

Realizing that our landlords, Barry, Bette and Led Duke, are not in fact a family; dad Barry, mom Bette and their son, the rather oddly named Led.
What does this mean??

Their a company - see my comment above.

Now I don't feel so stupid! (Unless I just explained it in a stupid way.)

Yay, you are back! (for now! You were back once before, teaser!)

Thanks for the comments on my old entries, too.

I hate it when I realize that an assumption I had for a really long time is totally wrong. And is it really Led Duke or is it LeDuke? I've never seen Led Duke as a last name before. Weird. I can see where the confusion would come in.

No Led Duke. Freaky, I know.

I wish his name was Led. It could be a nickname - like, maybe his real name was Zeppelin Duke.

We don't care why you were gone (unless it's something tragic that we should care about, or blissful that we should care about), as long as yer back!

We missed you. Puck cried into his food dish every day. The skies were darker. And, I'm not saying you're to BLAME, but the weather has certainly been crappier.

Neither blissful nor tragic - well, a little of both, but none of that was close to home.

It certainly has been cold w/o my friends.

Puck missed reading my stuff? That's some dog!

I do the same thing with my clothes. If they're too tight, I'll put them back, hoping either the magic dresser will fix it or (ha ha!) I'll lose the weight in the near future.

I'm a horrible clothes packrat. It takes a lot for me to throw away stuff. Back in April, the GF and I were going to a Thrifting brunch. Everybody had to bring in clothes they no longer wanted and we picked over each others stuff before hauling over to the local charity. Anyway, getting stuff together for it was just painful. I always think if I hold onto it long enough it will come back in style. Thankfully the GF went into my closet and forced me to get more out of it...

I’m not quite that bad. What kills me is stuff that does fit and is in style, but that somehow I just feel…. bored with. My sisters and I (when they lived in town) used to do the kind of thing you and your friends did, and it was much easier to see stuff go to them than to haul it off to a charity place.

I did realize the other day that I have enough clothes to go w/o doing laundry for several weeks. I don’t think I really want to be the kind of person who has enough clothes to go that long w/o running a wash. I realized this, of course, because I somehow actually went several weeks w/o doing laundry. Took me a good hour to put it all away.

usually if i go a long time w/o running a wash, i start hating my clothes because i don't have anything i *like* clean. maybe we should do an experiment and not run the wash for two weeks (or so) then look at what's still clean and challenge ourselves to get rid of half of it.

this includes underwear!!! only maybe we could keep 3/4 of our underwear. you do have to keep some special stuff.

Yeah, maybe because it's small, but I do have a terrible tendency to hang onto bras and underwear for too long. Though I just bought a load (like, 15!)cute cotton things, and I promised myself that I would get rid of any stretched-out, bleached-out panties in exchange.
