Nuclear weapons in Palo Alto

Well, I'm out of shape. Ride just over seventeen miles, and I'm tuckered out. My legs are sore, and I'm not sure tomorrow that I'll be completely cool with my relatively modest need to ride nine miles. However, I no longer think of the South Bay as pure suburban hell. It's also a pretty nice place to bicycle, I rode six miles on El Camino Real ( Read more... )

sounds like a beautiful ride. been a few years since we were in Palo Alto. a friend, bit of a character and really hope he gets to meet um...melonhead dude... Kiwano. (mommy brain thing, sorry)

My now husband and I, stayed with a friend at Stanford, en route to Burning Man for three years in a row. Way back in another lifetime before kids.

The friend was a T.A. at Stanford, on a fully-funded scholarship, doing a PHD in anthropology. He taught lectures and received course credit for his trips to Burning Man, the rainbow festivals and such. His Masters thesis was pantheology in comic books.

For some time, he was a professional D&D dungeon master. Lots of stories, a bit of a character. He and my dh were childhood friends in N.S.

you're much more of an optimist than i am then. i really don't believe that india, pakistan, or iran, (or north korea for that matter), are interested in stability, i think all their political clout stems from a lack of stability ( ... )
