Date/Time: Saturday, 11th March 2006 / 11:30 AM

Location: Courtyard

Open To: Bry

Currently Involving: Rin

Rin was bored. She tended to be bored with quite a lot of things lately, especially schoolwork. This was why, unlike most other Claws, she was putting off her homework until the last minute rather than getting everything done early. She was, instead, laying down on a table in the courtyard, staring up at the sky. Part of her wanted to kick herself in the arse for being so darned lazy, but if she was honest with herself she knew she'd do fine anyway. So why panic?

Just as she was relaxing, she heard someone else come out to the courtyard. She sat up, putting her feet on the bench next to the table and smirked once she recognized who it was. Bry Sawyer. Hufflepuff in her year. A bit sure of himself, and had a need to be the center of attention, if Rin remembered correctly. It had been a while since they last talked and she still couldn't figure out if he was actually that confident or if he was just putting up a front. Perhaps today was her chance?

She crossed her arms over her chest and cocked her head to the side, giving him a piercing stare. "Why is a raven like a writing desk? Answer me this and I shall let you pass unscathed, Mr. Sawyer," she joked with an amused smile on her face. "And don't whine. I gave you an easy one.

Bryant, on the other hand, felt no remorse for his general laziness. After all, it wasn't as though any of this stuff was important, anyway, so why be fussed about not doing homework every spare moment or missing a few classes? No sense to it at all, really.

He carried a football outside with him, planning to kick it around a bit, because there wasn't anything better to do, really, and anyone who knew Bryant wouldn't be surprised, anyway. The boy was rarely without some kind of ball when the weather was nice enough to support playing some form of sport.

"I have no bloody clue," he answered her honestly as he began to absently drop the football in front of him, catching it and kicking it upward with his knee. Bryant was your stereotypical jock type, which meant he had neither the patience nor the mental capacity for riddles.

There was one reason and one reason only Rinna tried in her classes. Well, there was also the fact that she was a Ravenclaw and it was just in her to do so, but mainly it was because she was the first in her family to come here and she was determined to do well.

Rin smiled and shook her head as she watched him with his ball. "Oh, Bry. Whatever shall we do with you?" she asked with a mock sigh, sliding off the table and standing. There was always a ball attached to that kid. It was like a movable tumor or something. A benign one, but a tumor nonetheless.

"Poe wrote on them," she informed him, grinning. "What are you you up to, love?"

Bry was the first in his family, too, but it wasn't exactly a point of pride, especially as far as his father had been concerned. Of course, there was also the fact that technically Jeremy was the first, but Bryant didn't like to acknowledge that prat as being part of his family, not at all.

"We?" he asked, giving her a blank look and giving up on his ball for the moment, catching it and tucking it under his arm. This Ravenclaw was apparently intent on conversation of some sort, and who was he to deny her? Besides, there were more boring things he could be doing, like wasting time on classes or homework, and Rin wasn't so bad, really.

"A whole lot of nothing is what I am up to, love," he replied, grinning as he pulled the ball out again, tossing it idly from one hand to the other and back again. "Out for a bit of sport, I suppose. Have to enjoy the weather while I can, after all."

~

"Yes, we. I have a team of ninjas hidden throughout the courtyard awaiting my orders," she said without even cracking a smile. Quirky? Definitely. And she really didn't care what people thought of her. Well...she hoped they liked her. That was only natural for humans, the want to be loved. She knew that and expected it even from herself. But if they didn't, it was their loss and she could just find someone else.

She smirked, watching him play with the ball. She really couldn't understand sports. Well, she understood the idea of them of course, but she didn't understand the attraction. It really didn't compute. Other than Quidditch that is. She adored Quidditch. It was probably the only thing she'd miss about school. "Yes, you never know with the bloody British weather. I should probably go practice too. Unfortunately I am feeling incredibly lazy today."
