Dari, on the other hand, was in a great mood! She'd had a fantastic morning with Jeremy and now she was out shopping for a few hours before returning home.. home to Jeremy, which sounded better to her everytime she thought it.
Her face broke into an ever bigger smile, though, when she spotted a familiar figure just down the street. It was unexpected and it was a really, really good surprise, running into him out here.
"James!" she cried excitedly, picking up her pace to bring her over to him a bit more quickly.
He was trying to cheer up, he really was. At least... at least get into a better mood before he got home, anyway. The sight of a familiar figure, said familiar figure being a girl he was rather fond of, managed to do just that.
"Dari?" He asked in a tone that was more than a little surprised. "Dari!" He repeated, grinning as he pushed himself into a standing position, his mood improving greatly. "What..."
He trailed off, paused, and laughed a bit. "I was going to ask what you were doing out here, but I think the answer's rather obvious. How're you, favourite Potions geek of mine?"
Once he stood, Dari was hugging him tightly, grinning like a fool and she pressed her face into his shoulder for a moment.
"Merlin, it's great to see you," she told him when she finally stepped back. "Surprising - I thought you were out being a rock star or something - but really, really good."
James was one of her best friends, after all, and she missed him a lot. "Oh, I'm good," she assured him, still grinning, "but what about you, birthday boy?"
