There were pink bows everywhere.
Preston was alarmed at first, when he entered his home to find the house covered in pink. The front parlor in particular looked like a raspberry had thrown up all over the room. His father had managed to head him off before he could venture further toward the pink explosion and explained everything; apparently, his Aunt Arianna had dropped off bridal shower decorations earlier in the day, and the house elf had all too eagerly gone through the supplies to start planning.
Preston got over the absurd amount of pink before turning to his father and holding out a hand. "Did you pick it up?" he asked, lips tugging into an excited smile. Armand fished through his coat pocket, returning the smirky smile his son gave him, before pulling out a small envelope and dropping it into his open palm.
"I promised, did I not?" He winked, then reached out to give Preston a proud squeeze to the shoulder. There was another small exchange of words and smoothing of details before father left son in the entryway to await his visitor. Audrey should be there at any moment, and then Preston could share the surprise with her.
He literally could not wait. He was nearly bouncing on his heels in excitement.
