Wow, Katie! Those are striking pictures. I was wondering why the flash was on, but then I saw you turned the flash off for the later pictures. And then the equivalent ISA boosted from 800 (already impressive) to a stunning 1600! I managed to get pictures of Comet Halley using ISA 800 film that I boosted to 1600. So you could even do some simple astronomical photography with this camera. I was disappointed with the performance of my Ricoh RDC-5300 at the Festival in normal light, much less low light. Maybe by next year's Festival, I'll upgrade to something equivalent and we can take pictures of each other taking a picture of the other with our Canons. :)

Rodney,
Last night was all about experimenting. The first few pictures were pretty much on auto, then I changed to night setting but the flash was taking FOREVER to reset so I turned it off and set the ISO really high. You think 1600 is impressive? The NIkon D80 goes up to 3200 -- which I would have gotten but the Canon was a better fit in my hand. The NIkon was heavy!
