So, there is a camp in Wisconsin that has expressed interest in my application for a camp counselor position. They provide travel expenses and their pay is about $1650-$4500 depending on experience and age (have both!) They are a non-religious, all girls camp ( Read more... )

I think you should do it. I know that you love to be a camp counselor. Also would be a blast to be out of state all summer long!!! I wish I could do that this summer. You already have a junior standing anyways so go for it!!! Take a break from school, you deserve it!!!

Hey, it's Leigh Anne Runkle. I followed the link to your livejournal and just read your post about being a camp counselor this summer. I worked all summer at a Christian camp for inner-city kids, and I loved it. I mean, it was definitely hard while I was there, and it probably won't be as much fun as you think it's going to be when you get there... but it was an awesome experience. I think you should definitely do the interview or whatever is requried to see if they're interested in hiring you. Besides looking good on a resume, it also provides great experience working with kids that will help you as you teach. So, if you're interested in my opinion, I would definitely recommend going. And maybe you could look into taking an online class this summer!
