I have to say...

The more I see images of kissing between Garrus and a human, the more ridiculous it looks.

gaming, geeky, funny

Like mouth-on-mouth kissing or kisses from Shep in general? It's kinda... hard... for Garrus to kiss without, erm, lips. I mean he has lips of a SORT but not the kissing sort. I always imagine turians doing the head bump thing and, idk, nuzzling?

I SUPPORT TURIAN NUZZLES FOR ME3~~

I find kissing to be one of those things that if you unpack it, turns out to be a really odd custom. I guess it came about because our lips have one of highest densities of nerve endings on our bodies, so mashing said lips together is stimulating. But still, if you stand back, it's weird.

Which always makes me think a turian's reaction to it is "you want me to what?"

Sudden thought- in the realm of funny sexual mishaps for turians (like the human version of leaning on your lover's hair); tangled mandibles?

Ditto! I wonder if turians have the same reaction that, say, kids do before they hit puberty of 'um, kissing? With your mouth? ... Ew.'

I've been wondering what sort of intimate gestures turians really have. It's hinted at that they have pretty sharp claws that either slightly or fully cover their fingertips. No lips to kiss with. What takes its place then? The front of the face is pretty flat, so maybe it's considered endearing to be in that sort of space a la the infamous Garrus' Head Bump Of Love. For a species that's fairly predatory in design and military in history, letting someone so close into your space and especially your face may be a sign of trust and affection. I'm also thinking their necks, since they're more exposed, and the pretty obvious waist reference, though how much that applies to males along with females is something to think on.

Why do I put so much thought into this.

Reminds me of what Star Trek did with the Ferengie and Cardassians. Each had their own "pleasure zone" ears and necks respectively.

It just slightly bothers me when people think that a completely different species/race would think that kissing is the be all end all.

The personal space idea is quiet interesting. Most times Turians seem stand-offish when you're in dialog mode with them. With their society being a meritocracy I can see allowing people into your personal bubble might be a sign of of trust and affection.

Either that or calibrations is the way Turians flirt.

This is why the comics that show f!Shepard getting her mouth bitten completely off will never stop being funny.

Not just her lips... imagine her poor tongue.

Of course. Because Garrus is your bro, and should not be romanced. Duh.
