As others have told you, the bookstore no longer exists. Nothing was left, not even debris. I imagine book sales will increase, so I would suggest waiting until after the inflation to procure a book.

It seems we have downgraded tremendously to mistletoe.

So business-savvy, Aurora. Duly noted. Shame I didn't have a collection already started--it might have been worth something.

Sore that you haven't been kissed yet?

It's the fundamentals of supply and demand.

No, I have been intentionally avoiding them. How did you know my kissing status?

True. I hadn't realized there was that much of a demand for books, though.

Why would you do that?
Oh, call it a lucky guess.

Books are, unfortunately, one of the rare mediums for transporting data around here. It's natural that there would be interest in them.

I'm not interested in being touched without my permission.

True, though it's surprising books are such rare commodity considering we're all writing in one. You'd think someone would have taken up writing/copying a book over the journal-network by now.

Well no one is, I guess, unless that's your kink, but I'm sure there's someone here you might give permission to for that kind of thing...in the interest of release. From the mistletoe.

Oh god the double meanings KILLED ME XD earth_uninstall October 10 2009, 03:56:57 UTC
There's a vast difference between a book and a journal. For one, the former requires the burden of pre-written content while the latter only needs blank pages. Granted, the journals are made from a specialized material, but there is an entire division dedicated to making them. Transcribing an entire book onto the journals would not only annoy many people, but be a large waste of time.

What do you mean by 'kink'? And I suppose there are some people I could ask to assist me should I get caught, but I'd rather prevent it from happening in the first place.

YAY! I mean...*revives you!* grab_my_bells October 10 2009, 04:16:31 UTC
There's a certain burden to having to formulate our own content, though. And a "large waste of time" is a matter of opinion. If the book's content is worthwhile to the sphere as a whole, perhaps it wouldn't be a time-waste of the project.

Kink... [A few pentaps as he tries to think how to explain it] An odd taste or proclivity, like a fetish or something. What gets you off, if it isn't generally considered the norm.
Fair enough, though if there's someone in particular, sometimes it's more fun to get caught, I'd think, and see where that goes.

The burden is entirely voluntary and supported by the entire populace. If a book's contents were that valuable to anyone in Edensphere, they would not be permitted to exist; no doubt the CPA would destroy them and anyone with knowledge of them. Perhaps that is why the bookstore was targeted.

I still don't understand. 'Fetish'? 'Getting off'? Your terminology is strange.
If I ever did want a kiss from someone, I wouldn't go about getting it by tricking them.

Assuming, of course, that they offered that kind of value. There are other values outside of apples and oranges. And yes, it's entirely possible, though I have no intention of speculating here why a store of knowledge was targeted to be destroyed.

I guess it might be. I'll find you a dictionary sometime, then, Aurora, and you can see for yourself what I mean.
Even if that was the only way?

So you are stuck on that stupid riddle, as well? I wonder if they actually know anything or are just trying to hide the fact that they don't.

I know the dictionary, so there is no need. I'm trying to apply the definitions to the terms you used, but it is still not making sense. So a kink would be an object of worship, generally viewed as abnormal, that someone uses to pardon themselves? That sounds rather illegal.

For me to get a kiss? Then I doubt I would be missing out on anything.

Both seem to be good excuses to censor.

Uh, yeah. In a way... Kink is a focus, or object, or anything you enjoy and that excites you, but isn't what normal people like. And "off" not in a "legal pardon" sense, but usually in a "sexual" one. Like masochism is a kink.

You never know.

A good tactic, on their part. Not only do we have to worry about our own knowledge, but theirs as well.

I see, it's slang. "Getting off" would be achieving orgasm, and a kink is a preferred method of "getting off" that no one else likes, correct?

If I needed to be kissed, I would be aware of it.
