i have been thinking obsessively on it for the last two months or so; i want to do habitat for humanity, i want to go plant trees abroad lol, i want to move to new zealand forever, i want to drive across the country and visit 50 farms in 50 states and live off the food i help harvest. i am jonesing for an experience.

oh man, for real you do the same for me! I THINK WE FEED OFF EACH OTHER which is great. you make me want to be a happier person! so let's do it! today in the shower i was thinking about how we could spend some time learning how to live sustainably, and then open a summer camp to teach kids how to do it too. WOULDN'T THAT BE THE SHIT. teaching kids how to make soap and plant cilantro and clean with baking soda (and make volcanos for the excitement factor)!!!!

Haha, I waited until I was 45 to experience this kind of itch, so I guess...count yourself lucky? I don't even know. I have a husband and four kids, two in college and two still at home, and there's no way I could go off and leave them behind forever, but this place where we live? This place where I grew up and my mother grew up and which is everything I know as home? I think I'd happily drop everything here and go off to find adventures. Go someplace where the wind doesn't blow 24/7, some town where I can get on a plane without driving for two hours each way, somewhere that I can listen to live music without a 200 to 400-mile round trip. A city that has an active music scene, where I can play my bass to the kind of music I enjoy, instead of playing and singing country music because that's the only genre anyone will pay to hear around here ( ... )

OMG NEW YORK! if that ever happens, call me! i must end up there somehow! i love your road trip and am superjealous, and hopefully you can hit the road again ASAP, maybe cross-country in which case you can pick me up and we can drive to acadia national park on the coast of maine and camp and sleep on the beach and eat lobster rolls <3 <3 <3 and girl we can play ANY KIND OF MUSIC YOU WANT!

YES, THIS MUST HAPPEN! I'VE NEVER BEEN TO MAINE!

Except I can't eat the lobster--it will cause me to swell up and die horribly.

BUT CAMPING AND BEACHES AND MUSIC...OH HELLS YES!
