The room was bland. Beige and taupe tones filled in the shapes made by the room’s sharp unyielding lines. The bedsit was not luxurious, but it was clean. Most importantly, it was anonymous.

Oh my gosh! I almost cried. This is the best Mrs Hudson I've ever read, hands down. Wow. And I love that you have her keeping 221B as a home for John, even though Sherlock's gone. They're a quirky little family, the three of them, and this piece was just really touching.

This is beautiful! You've sketched it so lightly, with telling details, that the grief is palpable, pervasive and yet not heavy, a living, breathing thing. Bringing Mrs Hudson and John together in their shared understanding of grief is wonderfully done, tying it in with old grief, widespread grief and how the love helps people through. Just beautiful.
