I was deeply saddened to learn this morning that my friend, kimbari passed away over the weekend. I don't know any details, only that her husband posted information about her memorial service to her facebook page

When I saw the post this morning, I thought at first it was Kim, joking. Then I read it again, saw it was from Rich, then clicked through to her page and realized it was true. :-(
I know. I was floored when I saw the post he'd made on her behalf. It was a stroke, apparently, and right out of the blue. Going to miss her in so many ways. . . .
She hadn't been very active on LJ for awhile. I know that she had a seizure a few weeks ago, and was briefly hospitalized for tests. But they didn't find the cause and sent her home with medication and instructions not to drive. The last FB post I remember seeing from her was about her beadwork, and she seemed to be doing okay. So it seems like this was quite sudden.
*is sad* It's amazing how much someone can be a presence in your life when you've never met them in real life. The internet makes real life strange, doesn't it? I keep thinking about Kim and I never met her.
I know exactly what you mean. I watched the latest episode of Fringe and couldn't stop thinking about how I'd like to discuss it with her. I don't think that will ever go away.
Also, I was thinking about whether it would be a good idea to ask LJ to preserve her journal as a memorial journal -- something they mentioned could be done in their last update. What do you think? She posted a lot of great fanfic and observations there, but on the other hand, she had moved away from writing fic, and revealed a lot of very personal thoughts there. Do you think she'd want it saved, or not?
This is so sad. She was so fierce, hilarious, and talented. I remember her talking about lupus, but you never quite expect this...even if you hadn't talked in what seems like decades. :(
I know :-( Even though we never met in person, she was such a good writer and wrote so much about her personal life and her feelings, that I feel like I knew her pretty well. I will be thinking of her every time I watch BSG, Fringe, or House, as well as when I visit Catholic churches in Rome, or see beadwork, or cute pictures of babies - because I know how much she loved them.
