The weekend of June 20 has been declared "SOS for our state parks" weekend, to protest the governator's threat to close 80 of our state parks. Of course doing this might save a few million, but a study from Cal State Sacramento estimates closing the parks would cost $4.32 BILLION/year in lost revenues ( Read more... ) -

Sad news
Natasha Richardson suffered a serious head injury in a skiing accident in CanadaApparently she felt okay at first, but later started complaining of headache, so they took her to the hospital. Some reports are claiming that she's brain dead (from intracranial bleeding), which can happen, but it doesn't seem to be confirmed ( Read more... ) -

Those of you who remember "Secret Agent Man" and "The Prisoner" will have been saddened by the recent passing of actor Patrick McGoohan. I was cheered up a bit to find that classic episodes are available for viewing, FREE!, on AMC's website, here.
