I finished my blackhouse (crofter's cottage) last month in time to enter it in a competition, but then I immediately turned my attentions to Christmas and never got around to posting the finished pictures here.  (I won't know the results of the competition until February.  I hope I'll win something!)

So here it is, finished at last.

Grace ~ It's been a very long time since I've been on Live Journal; however, I received a notice that you have a birthday coming up and could not pass up this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Birthday! And what a treat; your Crofter's Cottage is a delight. You always do such remarkable craftspersonship! And I notice you mention Quebec. I visited there once for six weeks, probably 25 years ago! The Chateau Frontenac is one of my favorite places! When I was there, a folk dance was going on, and some man came and grabbed my hands and pulled me onto the dance floor, and I had no idea what I was doing, but I danced! I've never forgotten that, or sitting on the grassy hills of the walls, drinking wine, eating a picnic lunch and listening to the music in the streets. At any rate, I hope life is being good to you, and you to it! And here's wishing you a most wonderful year to come!
