As your most liberal friend, I feel the need to point out the chances are, Colbert is being totally sarcastic. It's what hes known for...seriously making fun of the republicans.

Of course he's being sarcastic, it wouldn't be funny if he wasn't. But the best sarcasm is the kind that is rooted in truth. Sometimes when you're disapointed with things, the best thing to do is laugh about it.

haha, btw, I doubt you're my most liberal friend, but you come pretty close.

yeah, I think pretty much anyone can appreciate him. For Democrats, it's a way of making fun of Republicans...for Republicans, it's a way of laughing at a yourself and laughing when you're in a tough spot.
