One more row-housing drawing/painting. I had heaps of fun with this one, just drawing lines and boxes and mixing colors. I have one more I need to finish up but that will be the last rowhouse. Time to move onto something else.
I really like that drawing, and all its vibrant colors. It reminds me just a little bit of our friend An-su's work.
Lean on Pete was definitely my favorite movie of the year ... it totally got to me. (Also the most devastating movie of the year, but you're probably noticing that about now!)
What did I think!? The most devastating movie of the year! It was painful to watch. So much tenderness it hurt. And not what I expected. While the horse was very present, Pete was there to offer companionship in the simplest way possible. But the story was Charlies and his alone.
I thought it was you who recommended it and while I shouted "NO!!" at one point I'm still glad I watched it. I think it will be in my dreams tonight.
If you can locate the film Leave No Trace, watch it. Another story of people traveling the lands looking for answers. Looking for home.
I've been wanting to see Leave no Trace ... thanks for confirming that it's worth looking for.
And yeah, Lean on Pete is definitely not your stereotypical horse movie. :) I thought it was a really poignant study of the way marginalized people in our society get left behind and forgotten, and it was an insightful look at the rural west that I love. And the young man who played Charley did an extraordinary job, creating one of the most heartbreaking characters I've seen in a long time.
that is just lovely. It makes me happy to look at it!
Enjoy Danielle; I didn't know she'd gotten divorced.
I hear you about missing a dedicated space of your own; I think about living with someone, and there are spaces I wouldn't want anyone in. My little office/workout room where I'm sitting right now is one of them.

Danielle's was a messy divorce. She's still bouncing back, but bouncing strong.
As far as the dedicated space of our own, I often question what that is all about.
LOL but the questions don't last long as I dive into my hive for a spell. I guess I know what I want and it's probably I know what I need.
