Still no word from thoughtsbykat. I am concerned. She’s always been one to leave comments and I’ve pinged her privately via LJ twice now. Unlike a former LJ friend of mine, I don’t consider my friend’s list just another RSS feed, you guys are all quite real to me

I do raw occasionally, but honestly outside raw chicken or ground hamburger they really don't like it. =/ What meat are you using?

tonight I'm trying ground whole chicken and veggies. We'll see if that goes over better than the lamb and rabbit I've been using. They also liked the fresh raw sardines.

I had a LJ friend (eons ago) that I followed, and she got lung cancer, and yeah, I am sure she died. On Instagram, I followed this marathoner/foodie for a long time and realized, no posts in a while. I researched and learned she was hit by a car when she was out training, and after a while on life support, her husband, well, pulled the plug. With both of these people, who I never met/could never meet (the runner lived in Southeast Asia) I had a sense of loss.

It's really hard not knowing when someone stops posting.

I look at photos on the internet and draw from those, this one is not my own idea. I add a few flourishes to make it mine.

I've thought about adding raw meat to Lewis' diet ... I'd feel good about it, and I'm sure he'd be thrilled. It would seriously complicate life in the summer, though, when we're out in the bear-infested backcountry.

It always frustrates and worries me when friends disappear like that -- online ones and real-life ones, both. My LJ-ers are absolutely real friends, and I know the real-world names of a good number of LJ folks, but there are a few other folks here who I'm quite fond of, who I'd never be able to find again without their LJ posts. That really kind of saddens me ...

Yeah, doing raw meat for your pets in the summer as you travel would be nearly impossible. And then there's the bear factor, yeah. From what I read, dogs are far more agreeable to diving into raw meat than cats.

More than once recently a relative will create a post informing those who read about the death of that poster.
It's troubling she's been so quiet.

I'm gonna write a note to her sister (who may or may not see that note 'cause she and I aren't "friends" :-) ) and ask if Kat is okay.
