What a wonderful time was had by ME! Gah, I didn't know how desperate I was to get away until I was ... away. The highlight was these three women. They adopted me for the week. Louise (who is a young 87-year-old) and Chris are both New Yorkers. What a hoot they are together. The three of them met at a Zumba class eight years ago still hang out ( Read more... )

I think I'm now coming down from the high, if you know what I mean. I have zero energy to do much of anything.

What about you!? Geez, I can't imagine doing the car traveling you and Deb are doing. I bet you'll be really excited to sleep in that bed once again.

I had a sort of high from roaming around for a day in ME with my military history geek friends last week, and I was drained of social energy for a day or two afterward. I was barely recovered when I met restoman in NY!

This is by far the most traveling I've done in one trip and the past couple of days has been rough. Too much butt time in the car, even for me.

I simply love your photo-journaling.

Can you believe you are this healed and could do this trip?!! Healing happens, it just takes a while!

Went to the hand therapist today and saw how little I've improved these past two weeks. I'm discouraged.

Thank you for the kind comment, though. :)

It took YEARS for me to be able to do Tree on my broken ankle leg for longer than a little bit. Now...no problem!

What a blast you had! I looked at all your 'camp' photos on smugmug. I wish we had something like that here. We don't even have a sr. rec center. I've been thinking about doing some tie-dying. The last time I did it I was 17(7 dating a guy 5 years older than myself with my parent's approval). I'm glad you were able to bike ride. I hope you didn't have to downshift a lot. How is your wrist/hand feeling?

I love the young ladies comment about being around a bunch of grandmas.Sweet!

Take it easy and recoop so you aren't pooped.*smile*

You are the very first person to leave a comment on my smugmug account! Thank you.

I'm feeling a bit blue right now, something like we might all feel after a vacation. Back to the grind, I guess. Even though we retire, we still feel like we're in a boring routine, I guess I thought that went away once I stopped working every day.

I looked up the camp, and wondered why we don't have something like that here! It sounds like you had a blast :)

You might check with the local senior centers, which could point you in the direction of shared camping like Camp Sacramento. It's managed by the city and has been in operation for nearly 100 years.

You would have enjoyed this, I think. Mostly women and such a variety!

(a) Forget 87... I want to be like Louise when I'm 57!
(b) Allan Sherman song? Did she sing, "Hello Muddah! Hello Faddah!"?

Louise is just ... too cool. Love her.
Yes, that's the Hello Muddah routine.

Always nice to see you back here in LJ land.
